Her love for health and fitness came from her years as a competitive athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. Her sports background is what then allowed her to naturally fall into working as a fitness model. She has been fortunate enough to utilize her talents and work with brand names such as Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Puma, and FitBit to name a few. Maricris absolutely loves her work as a fitness model, but wanted to do more with her passion for fitness, which is how she came into becoming a personal trainer.
She currently resides in Hollywood, CA where she is taking her training career to the next level. Maricris is a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer with specializations in women’s fitness and corrective exercise. She is also a certified master trainer for the highly respected wellness company, Technogym. Maricris is proud to be a part of so many life changing transformations with her clients. She has worked with other pageant contestants, corporate adults, and even celebrity clientele. It is her mission to spread awareness on healthy fitness and nutrition habits for a long-term healthy lifestyle. Her company, Type 2 Be Fit, has the mission to remind everyone that no matter where they are at in their fitness journey, they are the Type 2 Be Fit. She wants to make an impact in the type 2 diabetes epidemic, and lower those growing numbers by helping individuals keep from being diagnosed, as well as help those diagnosed gain control of their diabetes.
After several years of competition in the pageant world, and her experience as a fitness model and personal trainer, she decided to take on the opportunity of a lifetime with Co-Director Blaine Strong to launch American Supermodel of the Year. With the experience and extensive network that Blaine and her offer together, she is excited to offer the best coaching for contestants in all areas of pageant competition, as well as fitness and nutrition. She is ready to be a part of the amazing career launches for the next winners of American Supermodel of the Year.
Director American Supermodel of the Year
Blaine Strong, Co-Director of American Supermodel of the Year grew up in Pasadena, CA, attended Cal State University, Northridge and received his BA in Kinesiology in 2011. Blaine is now a health and fitness coach, model, and influencer to many people all over the world. He is currently pursuing all of his endeavors and working with many different people on multiple platforms. He credits a lot of his success to his challenges in life, helping him gain so much perspective and experience. After three knee surgeries that each lasted up to six months of recovery, his discipline and appreciation for life went to new heights. After losing his dad at the age of 25, he also discovered a new part of his passion – mentoring and empowering others. He helps others see their potential and live to the fullest. He has made it his mission to connect with as many people as possible, building networks in every industry.
Blaine has continuously been a part of the fitness industry since 2009 when he began his career as a personal trainer. His passion for health and fitness began when he started playing basketball competitively at the age of five. Unfortunately, after years of competitive play, he experienced his first knee injury and ACL surgery his senior year of high school, as well as two more in college. During his rehabilitation, he turned to kinesiology and started working for a chiropractor, thinking that physical therapy would be his career path. Soon after he found out that life would take him in a different direction. He instead focused on surrounding himself with like-minded people, (much like basketball), that had a common mission to work together and promote health, prevent injuries, and build community. He now currently co-owns FitLife Nutrition – a nutrition and fitness studio in West Los Angeles, CA that has a nutrition bar and fitness studio with an incredible community. He has hosted workouts and events with hundreds of people and has personally helped thousands of people transform their minds, bodies, and spirits. His passion is helping others achieve their goals and succeed in any endeavor.
In addition, Blaine is also a fitness model. He has worked with brands such as Nike, Lulu Lemon, FitBit, Asics, Reebok, Speedo, Hugo Boss, and many others. Along with modeling, Blaine is also a social media influencer. He has written blogs, shared on numerous products, and spoken on panels and stages, ranging anywhere from ten to sometimes thousands of people.
After years of experience in the health and fitness world, and being a model and influencer, he decided to partner with Co-Director Maricris Lapaix, to launch American Supermodel of the Year. With very similar passions, backgrounds and work ethic, he and Maricris create an incredible team. Together, they will work to make sure you have the best experience and opportunities possible. They are ready to help with guiding and mentoring each of the amazing career launches, for the next winners of American Supermodel of the Year.
